Notice of existenee of a Sturgeon Use Tax Rate

Notice of existence of use tax rate; applicability and rate modification requirement as requied by CCS for HCS for SS Nos. 153 & 97. The City of Sturgeon previously  adopted and has in force a use tax.  The use tax rae for the city is currently  2% whih is equal to the total local sales tax rate.  The use tax applies to an impacts  certain purchases from out of state vendors.  A use tax is the equivlent of a sales tax on purchases made from out  of  state sellers by in state buyers and on certain taxable business transactions.  The use tax rate is equal to the total sales tax rate in effect in the city.  if any loocl sales tax is repealed or the rate there of is reduceed or raised by voter approval the local use tax rae shall also be deemed to be  repealed reduced or raised by the same action repealing reducing, or raising the loal sales tax.  I Donna Tracy City Clerk for the City of Sturgeon, Missouri do hereby certify that the foregoing is to the best of my knowledge and belief, correct.  Dated the 23rd day of August 2021.

COVID Vaccinations

Mark your calendar and share with friends.  Boone County Public Health & Human Services will be offering free COVID vaccines here in Sturgeon at our Youth Center.  No insurance information will be collected.  The Pfizer Vaccine will be made available to anyone 16 years of age and older.  The first dose will be given on Tuesday, 5/4/21 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.  The second dose will be given three weeks later on Tuesday, 5/25/21.  Boone County Health will be providing informational fliers in the near future.

The City of Sturgeon is seeking part time summer employees, to work at least twenty-eight (28) hours per week.  We will entertain applications from two individuals that can work fourteen (14) hours each per week, or from one applicant that can work twenty-eight (28) hours per week.  Primary responsibility will be mowing and grounds keeping.

Bulk Trash Pick Up Date

This is the first of two messages regarding the upcoming city wide spring bulk trash pick up day.  Please fell free to share these messages.  We have scheduled with TMAC our trash service provider, a bulk trash pick up date of Saturday, April 10, 2021.  Put this date on your calendar and begin preparing for April 10.  We will follow up with a second post approximately 3/29/21.
